Ruminating on Rudimentaries

What is your spirit?

My spirit is low. The part that makes life good.

Having "things" doesn't make up for a lack of love and acceptance and that lovely lovely feeling that you belong with someone, or in a place. That your life counts for something. that there is meaning in existence.

Is it a big joke of life that you have one or the other? You have Lucre and Mammon to hang out with and have plenty.... or you have friends and loved ones to starve alongside? and what is "starving"? are you starving when you lack affection? or someone to talk deeply with? Are you starving for gaiety when you are alone except for sleeping times?

If tear falls on the carpet in a hotel room ten thousand miles away, will anyone hear it? and if they did.... would they care? and why should they?

I know. too many questions.

"If of thy mortal goods thou are bereft,
And from thy slender store two loaves alone to thee are left,
Sell one, and with the dole, Buy hyacinths to feed thy soul"

Attributed to the Gulistan of Moslih Eddin Saadi, A Mohammedan sheik and Persian who lived about 1184-1291

That has been my "motto" all my life. To make the most of what you have. In this place, even an ashtray is decorated beautiful real flowers.
I have literal 'hyacinths' aplenty.

Perhaps I have lost touch with my soul.

The Little Good Folk

The fairies went from the world, dear,
Because men's hearts grew cold:
And only the eyes of children see
What is hidden from the old;
And only the magic of love, dear,
Can ever turn the key
That unlocks the gates of Fairyland
To set the Sidhe folk free.

You've come to realise that money and luxury isn't what the human being is really after. She/he may use as a means but that's not the end of the road.

There's nothing more important for a human than being intrinsically at ease with their innermost, watching those around move and behave in a quite strange way, but availing themselves of that experience for more own comfortability. Brace yourself and keep going, you will find not all is hopeless, there's much more to gain than to lose.
My best wishes+++
